About the event
- The UAE National Orchestra opens the Festival's 2026 season with conductor François López-Ferrer, recipient of the 2024 Sir Georg Solti Conducting Award. Georgian pianist David Khrikuli, a prizewinner of several international competitions, joins the orchestra as soloist in Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 – one of the composer's most beloved works. The programme also features Dvořák's Symphony No. 8, a work noted for its strong melodic character and influences from Czech folk music. Together, the two works represent major repertoire from the late Romantic period.
